I want to study only to diploma level.

Yes, you can, as we have various short-term courses from one month onwards and above certified by American Hospitality Academy, USA and CTEVT, Nepal.

What will be the level I would be joining in the kitchen after each course?

After the completion course, most students can expect to start as a commis.

What will we be covering in Short term, Wine class?

Course focuses on learning the art of wine tasting, pairing food and wine, and covers the characteristics of the grape varieties.

If I study in Silver Mountain, is the job guaranteed?

Silver Mountain does not guarantee job placement, however, Silver Mountain maintains good relations with hospitality industry and has been very successful in placing their graduates.

What is different in Silver Mountain than other local BHM colleges?

Silver Mountain practical classes are designed by hospitality experts and courses are developed and certified by Queen Margaret University, UK.
We have state of art wine lab, kitchen, Restaurants and Housekeeping rooms.

What about scholarship?

We provide scholarship on tuition fee on various categories and titles. Please visit us on campus with all the detail for further assistance. Silver Mountain follows the norms of scholarship as per the directorate of higher education (International Affiliation) of Ministry of Education.

What about the accommodation and transport facilities?

We do not have the accommodation facility here at the school, but we have good connections with the hostel providers for both girls and boys here in Kathmandu. They can accommodate the interested students as per their convenience. For transportation, public vehicles are easily available within walking distance of 2 minutes.

What are the criteria for the Provisional Admission?

For Provisional Admission, students must meet the below mentioned criteria,

Students must have minimum 1.8 GPA in aggregate or D+ in every subject in their Internal Exam in their respective faculty.
Each applicant must sit for the entrance test and interviews with our Management team.
To secure their seats after the approval, they need to deposit certain amount which is non- refundable.
If approved, they’ll be given a letter to sign stating that if any students who fail to achieve the minimum mentioned criteria will have to withdraw their names from the school but they can apply next year.

What are the employment possibilities after graduation?

Hospitality graduates are able to find placement in Nepal and abroad travel industry is one of the fastest-growing industries in the world. You must be willing to relocate. Our graduates are working all over the world.

Is it necessary to study for four years to join hospitality Industry?

Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM) is for those students who are serious about their hospitality career. It is suited for an eventual management position. However, for seeking jobs in hospitality the field in the short term, there are short term courses in individual depatment as such: bartending, barista, housekeeping, front office, food & beverage service and culinary courses. These courses run from one day to nine months.

What difference does it make between DICA and BHM if I am interested to join kitchen department after graduation?

BHM or Bachelors in Hotel Management is a Graduate degree that leads you to achieve Career Goals. BHM prepares the students for managerial responsibilities in all departments. Where as DICA or Diploma in International Culinary Arts is a pathway leading to BHM degree. DICA prepares the students to specialize in the Kitchen.

Have you started any new admissions in this pandemic situation?

Yes, we have started our Provisional Admissions for those students who are still waiting for their Final Board Exam of Grade 12.

Do I have to pay during my internship semester?

The total fee is for the entire course completion. The fee structure has split so the students can pay in easy semester installments. Therefore, you have to pay during the internship semester.

What is the difference doing three years DICA vs. One year culinary program?

Three-year DICA is an academic degree with practical knowledge that includes a one-year internship in a reputed hotel. The student has option to upgrade his education in a college or a University. Whereas, one-year Culinary Program is a shorter version of DICA with AHA certificate.

What are the class timings?

Most of the classes run in the morning till afternoon. It depends upon the practical classes.
